paradiselost

The English poet John Milton wrote a poem called “Paradise Lost”. Published for the very first time back in 1667, it is regarded as one the best English literatures. It is a poem composed of ten books and is written in blank verse.

The biblical account of how humans lost paradise centres on Satan’s uprising and its aftermaths which is what “Paradise Lost” talks about. The poem starts with Satan and his angels banished from heaven for their mutiny against God. To avenge this act, Satan deviously enters the Garden of Eden and manages to trick Adam and Eve into defying God who in turn banish them from their realm.

It’s the most basic poem to study and maybe easy to understand.

It considers issues like what is goodness and badness, do people have a free will or are they controlled by some power, why there is evil since we know that God creates everything and he should be able to create all goodness. The literary analysis of how Milton presents Satan as a charming and tragic character has become a very popular topic for research.

Its also uses the word such as muse which means asking for help from any goddess angel etc etc.

Paradise lost is an excellent representation of a beautiful poetry. It makes use of colorful images and delves deeply into theological and philosophical perspectives. The work has been an influence on many writers, artists, notations and still remains literary and intellectual for modern scholars studying it now.
